Week 3, Day 1
So, I skipped week 2 kinda and went on to week 3. It about killt me. I ran for 3 minutes straight... TWICE!!! I rolled my ankle right before I was done with the last three minute interval, but DAMN!!! Trixie was my running buddy today and while I was running and dying, she was lightly trotting along beside me like it was nothing. The only problem was that she likes squirrels and there are plenty to be had along my route. Being jerked sideways mid-run is always fun. Or tripping me because she ran in front of me. I need to leash train my dumb dog I guess. So, I am at home dying. But I lived.

Week 2... down the drain
SOOO... 5 day course of antibiotics down, and I now have the runs (YAY!!!) Pried my ass off the couch to run 2.5 miles to "catch up" for the week lost. Ran past some shady characters on the way down the road. At least I didn't encounter the mentally ill man who walks up and down the street every day with his headphones shouting obscenities at the top of his lungs. He cussed Matt out one day while he was checking the mail. It was pretty funny. There was a couple making out on the rec trail that I use in my neighborhood. Why would you go on a rec trail to make out... there's dog poo out there!!! I think I almost died when I trotted up to my mailbox clutching the stitch in my side. But guess what? I AM PROUD OF MYSELF!!! I got up and did it and didn't even poo on myself!!! I plan to continue this week on Friday and Sunday. Let's see what happens, eh?

Day 1, week 2
Here goes week 2. I definitely was pushing today. Kinda felt good. I think I might Continue this party!!! Nothing really special today. Got to figure out how to make a green tutu. Anyone wanna join our team in the dash down greenville needs to let me know!!!
Day 3, Week 1
Belated post... I know... I was at my parents house for day 3. Did complete it tho! Ran zig zag through my parents' super-hilly neighborhood. All the streets have names like, "crest" and "ridge" I guess named appropriately. I spent all of yesterday at the collision center waiting for a rental car. Finally went and walked to Chili's and had a burger and a margarita. Walked up US75 in Plano to the Chili's. That was kinda scary! So I plan on going to the gym and running today and doing possibly some laps in the pool. Wish me luck in Day 1 of Week 2 guys!!! I'm gonna need it!

Day 2, Week 1
I had to change to title of my posts. To specify what week and so forth. Day 2, not as easy. Still sore from day 1. I have to find motivation in each day that I do this.... hard to do when looking at all the plastic in Lifetime in Plano. I did find some motivation yesterday. A man, 26, morbidly obese with lymphedema. He's MY age!!! I don't care if I'm 90... I DON'T WANT LYMPHEDEMA!!!! That is a horrible way to let yourself go... :( I am finding that I have more energy after working out... amazing, I know! I don't feel totally wiped out. I was a bit disgusted while swimming watching an older couple making out (I hope that's all they were doing) in the hot tub... AT THE FREAKING GYM!!!! People are gross. I did start making my hubby write his excuses every day for why he didn't go to the gym. It's not like he's doing a whole lot at work for the last couple of days. He just doesn't answer me now when I ask what his excuse was today. Men!

Day 1
Ok, so I am not the typical physique of your average runner. However, I have decided to take on the daunting task of Couch to 5K. If you're not familiar with Couch to 5K, it is a popular exercise routine people seem to enjoy. I am definitely NOT a runner. Today was my first day with this program. I downloaded a podcast to guide me along while at the gym on the treadmill. Imagine, if you will, the fat chick at the gym running in intervals to techno-trance music (or whatever it's called). It didn't totally kick my ass so I guess that's good for day one. Supposedly exercise isn't supposed to kill you each time you go. WHAT A FREAKING CONCEPT!!! I am writing this blog in hopes that I will inspire someone like me to get their ass off the couch and run! I have a set of challenges set for myself, the first of which start March 12 in the Dash Down Greenville 5K in Dallas. I and a good friend are running this year for the support of another friend who suffered a debilitating CVA (stroke) this past fall. Most of which is my main motivation to keep myself in good physical condition. Not to be a bodybuilder or triathlete or anything of that nature. I watch people everyday where I work in poor health who suffer because they didn't take care of their bodies sooner. I have grown numb to their health problems because it's my job to take care of them not thinking that it would happen to me because they're old. What has gotten to me is the coworkers who are young suffering from debilitating illnesses that I treat in 60-70 year olds everyday. Maybe it's not just the old folks, huh? SO here I go. No crash-dieting, weird cleanses, or even a tapeworm. I am doing this the old-fashioned way. The RIGHT way. Exercise and not eating CRAP!!! God help me!
